Brian is a valuable Research Scientist on the StageBio team. Learn more about his accomplishments and interests in the pathology space below.
How long have you worked with StageBio?
8 years.
What are your primary interests within the Pathology + Scientific space?
I am interested in immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization (ISH), and fluorescent multiplexing. I always say that there were two fields of study that I loved: science and art. While I am not a great artist, I think histology suits me because it is an aesthetic science. I also love immunohistochemistry because of the ability to detect antigens that cannot be seen without it.
What are your most recent work accomplishments?
Most recently I was included as a coauthor in a recent paper helping in the diagnosis of osteosarcoma for canines in the clinical setting. Special AT-rich sequence-binding protein 2 immunohistochemistry in the diagnosis of osteosarcoma in dogs - ScienceDirect. I am also on the Program Committee for the National Society for Histotechnology, where I help select presenters and review the presentations prior to the annual conference, then help out onsite behind the scenes as needed.
What do you like about the StageBio culture?
I like trying to help clients get as much information out of their projects as possible while keeping in mind their budget constraints.
What do you like to do on the weekends?
I enjoy family time, including whatever activities my kids are interested in at that point in time, most often theatre or sports.
Thanks Brian for all you do for the StageBio team and our clients!
